Take the cool voice of Georgie Fame, blend with the smooth sounds of the Brian Smith Trio - add a generous helping of Carmichael, Porter and Armstrong and settle in for a night of silky jazz and blues.

Recognised as one of the world’s finest contemporary jazz and blues vocalists he is also a great keyboard player.  In 2000, his CD,  Poet in New York was voted best Jazz Vocal Album by the Academie du Jazz in France.  He frequently tours Europe, Asia and Australia, and has just finished a three week tour of Scandinavia with Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings.  He is a regular at Ronnie Scott’s in London .

On the tour he will be accompanied by a great New Zealand band led by Brian Smith (Saxophone), with Billy Kristian (Bass) and Alain Koetsier (Drums).

For more than four decades Georgie has worked with other eminent musicians including Eric Clapton, Count Basie, Stevie Wonder, Muddy Waters, and Van Morrison.  He has produced more than 40 acclaimed albums, had three number one singles and picked up numerous  awards.

Georgie returns to New Zealand following his highly successful 2007 tour when he played to sell-out concerts at Church Road ,  Tauranga’s National Jazz Festival,  and in Wellington and Palmerston North.
