Brian Smith has just played the Tauranga Jazz Festival and done a small tour with Georgie Fame, finishing with the Christchurch Jazz Festival. He will also be working with George at Church Road Wine Festival next February 2007.
Brian did play for the gala opening of Winter Nelson School of Music Festival, a Gershwin Evening with Dave MaCrae and Joy Yates on the 7th July 2006. This included Paul Dyne and Roger Sellers as well. On the 9th July he did a quartet gig with the same band, and a guest spot with Joy Yates.

Brian Smith visited LA on 29th September for Maynard Ferguson's 75th year alumni reunion for four days at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel. He played with Maynard and other sas well as being on a discussion panel while catching up with old friends. See the photos below, please mouseover to read information.

Brian Smith returned to LA for the I.A.J.E. Conference at Longbeach. While there he played on a CD with Rodger Fox, who was also be there with Tom Warrington Trio, Joe La Barbera on drums and Larry Koonse on guitar.
